Welcome
Information literacy is defined as "the ability to
solve information-based problems: acquire, critically evaluate, select,
use, create and communicate information in ways which lead to knowledge
and wisdom". (Ontario School Library Association, Information Studies,
1999 document). In order to succeed in a constantly changing technological
world, students must be information literate. They should be able to locate,
critically examine and use information to solve problems. The Library
program at Michael Power St. Joseph, supports and promotes learning technology
and information literacy.
Welcome! You are invited to use the Library Information Centre to:
- Locate and borrow books and videos
- Use computer resources (Databases, Catalogue, Internet and Computers)
- Do research, homework, study or quiet reading.
