> How can I take CO-OP?
If you are a student
of Michael Power / St. Joseph High School, the co-operative education
course is available through the current course calendar in the guidance
office. Browse our online course descriptions
and codes and be sure to include them on your next year's option sheets.
You will be contacted by one of the co-op teachers for an interview prior
to entering the course.
In your Grade 11 year, you can explore a career opportunity through a
co-operative education program. In your Grade 12 year, you'll be encouraged
to enroll in a school-work transition program that will provide you with
industry recognized training and prepare you for employment in a skilled
profession. These intensive programs are usually 4-credits in nature and
are offered in Semester 2. If you're interested in participating, work
with your guidance counsellor and techer advisor to arrange your courses
well in advance. Early and effective planning will serve you well.
If you are an employer and are interested in utilizing the co-op program
for your business, consult the getting
involved area in the "for employers" section.
