> What is co-operative
education?
Co-op is a credit program
which combines classroom theory with practical work experience in the
real world workplace. The program is based on a partnership between the
school and industry/business, and involves the participation of students,
teachers, employers and in most cases, employee supervisors.
In addition to providing work experience, co-operative education can help
students make decisions about their future careers and develop positive
attitudes towards themselves and their education. Students also develop
new skills and attitudes which will help them pursue a worthwhile career.
Exploring different careers and discovering your skills is the key to
the future from co-op.
Whatever plans students have for the future, co-op education can help
them explore possibilities, gain experiences, and make decisions. Something
that provides this level of first-hand experience should not be overlooked.
